05HOW COMPETITION WORKS

District, then State, then International.

Role-plays

A judge hands you a business problem and you get ten minutes to solve it out loud. The same shape as the campaign work in Units 3, 6 and 11.

Written events

A full marketing plan, written to a page limit, then presented. Long-form work that starts in the fall.

Principles events

Five events reserved for first-year members, so a ninth grader is not put up against a senior in their first competition.

Online challenges

Stock Market Game and the Virtual Business Challenge both qualify for International without leaving the room.
